We know our first responders and military veterans depend on public funding to have the resources they need to either do their jobs safely or reintegrate into civilian life with respect and purpose. We help fund the resources and tools they need to continue to stay safe and help and protect others in our communities, around the nation, and throughout the world.

“There is a certain enthusiasm in liberty that makes human nature rise above itself in acts of bravery and heroism.” Alexander Hamilton
Serving Those Who Selflessly Serve
Our military veterans and first responders put their lives on the line for our freedoms, our safety, and our peace of mind – the Berges family feels strongly that they deserve to have our support in return.
The Berges Family Foundation supports nonprofit veteran and first responder organizations that focus on helping military veterans adjust to civilian life while they help others in our communities, and ensure the needed resources and tools are in place for first-responder safety and training.
St. Louis Veteran Nonprofits
St. Louis is home to thousands of veterans who want to learn new skills, continue to serve in some way, and reintegrate into their civilian lives with a new sense of purpose, often while dealing with emotional trauma. Our local veteran nonprofit organizations are doing great things to see that they have the resources they need to live productive, fulfilled lives while being able to still serve and give back to their communities.
With the help of the Berges Family Foundation, veterans in St. Louis are connecting with each other and community partners through a variety of individual and team-based programs to create sustainable results that empower our city’s youth and encourage working together and crossing barriers to help throughout our communities.
One example of a veteran organization that we support is The Mission Continues. They empower veterans to find purpose through community impact. They deploy veterans on new missions and work with other local nonprofits that inspire at-risk youth to serve.
The St. Louis 1st Platoon is dedicated to early childhood education and community engagement in North St. Louis County. St. Louis 2nd Platoon is supporting health and wellness, education, and mentorship for youth in custody of the Missouri Division of Youth Services.
Another veteran nonprofit that we support is Team Rubicon, whose primary mission is providing disaster relief to those affected by natural disasters, both domestically and internationally. By pairing the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders, medical professionals, and technology solutions, Team Rubicon aims to provide the greatest service and impact possible.
Support Your Local Heroes
We don’t think about the fact that our police force, fireman, and other first responders are working around the clock for our safety. They sacrifice time with their families and give back in numerous ways that we, as civilians, take for granted.
With the ever-increasing need for higher security and better tools to prevent catastrophe and provide the utmost safety to everyone, the Berges Family Foundation supports first responder organizations. These nonprofits assist with getting our police, fire, and EMTs the help, tools, technology, and services they need that government budgets cannot provide.
One of the organizations that we support is the St. Louis Police Foundation. The Foundation supports the metropolitan and county police departments with projects that enhance law enforcement proficiency and efficiency and increase officer safety. They encourage community support and understanding and foster personal development and well-being with monetary support, goods, and services.
How You Can Help
Please consider helping our veterans and local first responders in any way you can. Donate, have a fundraiser for something they may need, or reach out to a nonprofit organization that provides veteran or first-responder assistance to see how you can help.
And be sure to share our mission and thank a veteran, officer, fireman or firewoman, or EMT, today – our freedom and safety are the results of their sacrifices.
